September 14, 2010	CCI Day of Action Enough is Enough - Stop the Greed! Join us for a Day of Action as we tell Wells Fargo to Put People First Tuesday, Sept. 14! Wells Fargo has... - Funnelled hundreds of millions in lines of credit to payday lenders - An abysmal record on preventing foreclosure and keeping people in their homes - A history of discriminatory lending - Record profits and billions in bonuses to top executives We'll meet at 12 pm at the CCI headquarters, 2005 Forest Avenue in Des Moines, for lunch and a strategy session followed by an afternoon of action! September 23, 2010	Protest Song with CCI and David Rovics Get your protest song on with CCI and David Rovics! David Rovics is a renowned protest singer who will bring his songs of social significance to Prairie Moon Winery in Ames Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6 pm. Every protest movement has had its music. From labor songs at the turn of the century, through the music that carried us through the civil rights movement and protest movements in the 60’s, music has always been there. David will not only play, but will also lead discussion on the importance of music in our own social movements today. September 23, 2010	CCI's Fast Track Home Ownership Class Fast Track Classes prepare you to own your own home. If you have minimal credit issues, have been pre-approved for a loan or have already begun the home-loan process, then CCI's Fast Track Class can provide you the necessary tools to: - Prepare financially for homeownership, - Find the right home, - Understand financing options, and - Avoid predatory lending. October 16, 2010	People's Hearing with Dept. of Labor CCI is one of five groups across the country to host a "People's Hearing" with the U.S. Department of Labor. Top officials are coming to Des Moines to hear from everyday folks about worker justice, wage theft and enforcement issues. Details to be announced.
