How to Calculate Animal Unit Capacity
One finishing hog = .4
animal unit
(Example: 2,500-head of finishing hogs x .4 =
1,000 animal units)
One nursery pig = .1 animal unit
One cattle = one animal unit
One dairy cow = 1.4 animal units
One broiler/layer chicken less than three lbs = .0025 animal
unit
One broiler/layer chick 3 lbs or greater = .01 animal unit
